요한복음 3장 18-21절

아들을 믿는 사람은 심판을 받지 않는다. 그러나 믿지 않는 사람은 이미 심판을 받았다. 그것은 하나님의 독생자의 이름을 믿지 않았기 때문이다. 심판을 받았다고 하는 것은, 빛이 세상에 들어왔지만, 사람들이 자기들의 행위가 악하므로, 빛보다 어둠을 더 좋아하였다는 것을 뜻한다. 악한 일을 저지르는 사람은, 누구나 빛을 미워하며, 빛으로 나아오지 않는다. 그것은 자기 행위가 드러날까 보아 두려워하기 때문이다. 그러나 진리를 행하는 사람은 빛으로 나아온다. 그것은 자기의 행위가 하나님 안에서 이루어졌음을 드러내려는 것이다."_새번역성경

彼を 信じる 者は， さばかれない． 信じない 者は， すでにさばかれている． 神のひとり 子の 名を 信じることをしないからである．そのさばきというのは， 光がこの 世にきたのに， 人々はそのおこないが 悪いために， 光よりもやみの 方を 愛したことである．悪を 行っている 者はみな 光を 憎む． そして， そのおこないが 明るみに 出されるのを 恐れて， 光にこようとはしない．しかし， 真理を 行っている 者は 光に 来る． その 人のおこないの， 神にあってなされたということが， 明らかにされるためである．_口語訳

"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."  _NASB

Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. “This is the crisis we’re in: God-light streamed into the world, but men and women everywhere ran for the darkness. They went for the darkness because they were not really interested in pleasing God. Everyone who makes a practice of doing evil, addicted to denial and illusion, hates God-light and won’t come near it, fearing a painful exposure. But anyone working and living in truth and reality welcomes God-light so the work can be seen for the God-work it is.”_The Message
