갈라디아서 3장 11-12절

하나님 앞에서는, 율법으로는 아무도 의롭게 되지 못한다는 것이 명백합니다. "의인은 믿음으로 살 것이다" 하였기 때문입니다. 그러나 율법은 믿음에서 생긴 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 "율법의 일을 행하는 사람은 그 일로 살 것이다" 하였습니다._새번역성경

そこで、律法によっては、神のみまえに 義とされる 者はひとりもないことが、明らかである。 なぜなら、「信仰による 義人は 生きる 」からである。律法は 信仰に 基いているものではない。かえって、「律法を 行う 者は 律法によって 生きる 」のである。 _口語訳

Now that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for, "THE RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary, "HE WHO PRACTICES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM." _NASB

The obvious impossibility of carrying out such a moral program should make it plain that no one can sustain a relationship with God that way. The person who lives in right relationship with God does it by embracing what God arranges for him. Doing things for God is the opposite of entering into what God does for you. Habakkuk had it right: “The person who believes God, is set right by God—and that’s the real life.” Rule-keeping does not naturally evolve into living by faith, but only perpetuates itself in more and more rule-keeping, a fact observed in Scripture: “The one who does these things [rule-keeping] continues to live by them.”_The Message
