마태복음 7장 1-5절

"너희가 심판을 받지 않으려거든, 남을 심판하지 말아라. 너희가 남을 심판하는 그 심판으로 하나님께서 너희를 심판하실 것이요, 너희가 되질하여 주는 그 되로 너희에게 되어서 주실 것이다. 어찌하여 너는 남의 눈 속에 있는 티는 보면서, 네 눈 속에 있는 들보는 깨닫지 못하느냐? 네 눈 속에는 들보가 있는데, 어떻게 남에게 말하기를 '네 눈에서 티를 빼내 줄테니 가만히 있거라' 할 수 있겠느냐? 위선자야, 먼저 네 눈에서 들보를 빼내어라. 그래야 네 눈이 잘 보여서, 남의 눈 속에 있는 티를 빼 줄 수 있을 것이다." _새번역성경

“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor._The Message
