누가복음 8장 16-18절

    "아무도 등불을 켜서, 그릇으로 덮거나, 침대 아래에다 놓지 않고, 등경 위에다가 올려놓아서, 들어오는 사람들이 그 빛을 보게 한다. 숨겨 둔 것은 드러나고, 감추어 둔 것은 알려져서 환히 나타나기 마련이다. 그러므로 너희는 조심하여 들어라. 가진 사람은 더 받을 것이요, 가지지 못한 사람은 가진 줄로 생각하는 것마저 빼앗길 것이다."_새번역성경

だれもあかりをともして， それを 何かの 器でおおいかぶせたり， 寢台の 下に 置いたりはしない． 燭台の 上に 置いて， はいって 来る 人たちに 光が 見えるようにするのである．隱されているもので， あらわにならないものはなく， 秘密にされているもので， ついには 知られ， 明るみに 出されないものはない．だから， どう 聞くかに 注意するがよい． 持っている 人は 更に 与えられ， 持っていない 人は， 持っていると 思っているものまでも， 取り 上げられるであろう 」．_口語訳

"Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. "For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. "So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him."_NASB

“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a washtub or shoves it under the bed. No, you set it up on a lamp stand so those who enter the room can see their way. We’re not keeping secrets; we’re telling them. We’re not hiding things; we’re bringing everything out into the open. So be careful that you don’t become misers of what you hear. Generosity begets generosity. Stinginess impoverishes.”_The Message
