히브리서 12장 10-11절

육신의 아버지는 잠시 동안 자기들의 생각대로 우리를 징계하였지만, 하나님께서는 우리를 자기의 거룩하심에 참여하게 하시려고, 우리에게 유익이 되도록 징계하십니다. 무릇 징계는 어떤 것이든지 그 당시에는 즐거움이 아니라 괴로움으로 여겨지지만, 나중에는 이것으로 훈련받은 사람들에게 정의의 평화로운 열매를 맺게 합니다._새번역성경 

肉親の 父は、しばらくの 間、自分の 考えに 従って 訓練を 与えるが、たましいの 父は、わたしたちの 益のため、そのきよさにあずからせるために、そうされるのである。すべての 訓練は、當座は、喜ばしいものとは 思われず、むしろ 悲しいものと 思われる。しかし 後になれば、それによって 鍛えられる 者に、平安な 義の 実を 結ばせるようになる。_口語訳 

 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. _NASB

While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God’s holy best. At the time, discipline isn’t much fun. It always feels like it’s going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off big-time, for it’s the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God._The Message
